February 9 – FAIR Presents at 7:00pm. FAIR PRESENTS is a new performance series for ALL FAIR students. All forms of art are encouraged to be involved such as music, dance, theater, & spoken word. Feel inspired to collaborate with other students or just perform solo. This is an opportunity for students to show off your talent!
February 9 - Achieve Minneapolis Step-Up Summer Internship Program 10:30 – 11:30am - A great opportunity for young people to explore careers, gain job and life skills, and earn a paycheck. STEP UP provides career exploration through paid summer internships for over 1,600 young people! Students ages 14-21 who reside in the City of Minneapolis are eligible. STEP UP recruiter Cara Luebke, will be visiting the FAIR School CCC on Friday, February 9th from 10:30 to 11:30 to assist in completing the application and answering questions. The application can be completed anytime before midnight on Friday, February 16th at steupupmpls.org. For questions please contact Ms. Dornacker at 612-486-2512
February 12 – African American Parent Involvement Day - Come visit your student’s classes and join us for:
· Donuts and Coffee with the Principal – 8:00 – 10:00am
· Free Lunch with your student during their scheduled lunch time. FAIR will pay the cost of lunch with RSVP to Kalisha Wiggins at: kalisha.wiggins@mpls.k12.mn.us by February 9.
Families are welcome all day at FAIR!
February 12 – Family Skating Part at Roller Garden - The Office of Black Male Student Achievement will be hosting a family Skating party at the Roller Garden in St. Louis Park from 6:00 – 8:00pm.
February 14 – Elementary and High School Honors Celebrations - We celebrate the accomplishments of our amazing scholars. Refreshments will be served.
Elementary Honor Roll and Reading Achievement Celebration – 2:30 pm
High School Honor Roll and Perfect Attendance Pizza Party (By invitation) – 3:30pm
February 15 – Sweetheart’s Dance – All High School students are invite to attend the dance from 6:00- 9:00pm. Students may bring a guest from another high school with a complete dance permission form.
February 16 – Parent Teacher Conferences – All day, no school for students.

February 16 – Post Secondary Education Options Meeting – 9:00 am. Information session for parents and students to learn more about Post Secondary Education Options and the application process for the 2018-19 school year. PSEO Advisors from the Minneapolis Community Technical College and University of Minnesota will be attending.
February 16 – Achieve Minneapolis Summer Work Step Applications Due at midnight!
February 19 – President’s Day – No school for students
February 28 – African American History Wax Museum – 2:30pm. Elementary and High School students from our African American History Class will work together during the month of February to plan and present a Wax Museum of figures in African American History. Refreshments will be served.
