Welcome to the 2018-2019 school year!

Go-To Card Registration and Pick Up:​​​​​​  August 15, 16, 17 from 9:00am to 12:00pm.

 FAIR Students in Grades 10-12:

1. Come to FAIR during scheduled times above
2. Register and electronically sign off on rules and expectations for Metro Bus Passes 
3. Receive Go-To Card

FAIR Students in Grade 9 or New Students:

1. Come to FAIR during scheduled times above
2. Register, have photo taken and electronically sign off on rules and expectations for Metro Bus Passes 
3. Receive Go-To Card at Open House on August 23, 2018 from 5:00pm - 7:00pm

If your student is not attending FAIR in the fall, please notify us by emailing our Secretary, Kalisha Wiggins: kalisha.wiggins@mpls.k12.mn.us 

Note:  If your student is not attending, you may still receive School Messenger Communication until on or about September , 2018 when updates are made to the system.

Dear FAIR School Senior Families:

I am writing to inform you about a procedural change in our school that has resulted in a small reimbursement coming back to your family.

The FAIR School has traditionally assessed a small fee of $35.00 to be used for graduation related expenses. Minneapolis Public Schools learned recently that charging such a graduation fee is prohibited by law. Minneapolis Public Schools will be reimbursing this fee to families who have already paid it.

If your Senior has already paid, they will be reimbursed $35 fee during the week of June  4, 2018, prior to graduation.  We are working on the details of when we will have the funds (cash) back at FAIR to be paid out. 

We are sorry if this has caused any confusion for your family and look forward to a successful graduation ceremony on June 9, 2017 at 7:00pm at the Cowles Center for Performing Arts.

In mid May, we held a senior meeting and informed students that they would not be able to wear ceremonial graduation stoles or additional items on their graduation gowns.  

Today, we received guidance from Michael Thomas, MPS Chief of Academics, Leadership and Learning, that in order to honor the diverse student body in MPS, graduates may wear attire that honors their heritage, ethnicity and customs for this life milestone.  These may include Native graduates wearing an eagle feather or our Black students wearing Kente cloths (these are just two examples).  Students at FAIR may now wear these items, with their graduation gowns as long as they relate to their culture and heritage.  Students earning GPA based honor awards or honor societies will wear traditional cords at graduation.  

Students at FAIR may decorate their caps as long as they are appropriate in language and symbols that align with our MPS district policies.  Let's get creative!

June 1 - FAIR Block Party Celebration 5:00 - 7:30pm

June 7 - Last Day for Seniors

June 8 - Graduation Practice - 11:00 am

June 8 - Senior BBQ Lunch - 12:30 pm

June 8 - Senior Walk and Community Meeting 2:00 pm

June 9 - Graduation!  Seniors arrive by 6:15 pm, Ceremony at 7:00 pm
